Tuesday, March 12, 2024 (1:00 PM - 4:00 PM) (CDT)

Description

Event date/time: March 12, 2024 from 1:00pm – 4:00pm (this is an in-person event only)

The U.S., Mexico, Canada Agreement (USMCA) went into effect on July 1, 2020. Though this landmark agreement created many opportunities for cross border trade between the U.S., Mexico, and Canada, it has created some competitive challenges for certain industries and trade practices. For example, exporters of dairy products trying to grow their business in Canada are usually met with Tariff Rate Quotas (TRQ) favoring Canadian processors.

Sam Allison, Director of Global Sales for Sartori Cheese, has been navigating these challenges since the beginning of the USMCA and will share his insights and company’s experience. As a participant in other Free Trade Agreements (FTA), Sam will also provide valuable insight into other markets. Following Sam’s presentation, join other MITA members for a moderated discussion for other Wisconsin companies to share their insights and personal experience with FTA compliance.

Julie Pojar, LCB, Director of Trade Compliance at Kohler Co., is responsible for Kohler Co.’s Trade Compliance organization. She leads the development, implementation, and governance of strategic initiatives and policy to oversee and manage all aspects of regulatory trade compliance for Kohler Co., including the establishment of a Global Trade Compliance Center of Excellence.
